Tonight, I’ll just curl up alone,
In my bedroom, in my home.
My quilt and pillow, will give me a hug,
Keep me safe, from a rogue bedbug.
I hope my eyes, will slowly close,
as I drift off, and start to doze.
I will try my best, to clear my mind,
Inner peace, I hope to find.
Will the dark thoughts stay away?
Or will they show, and have their say?
If I keep still and hold my breath,
maybe I’ll avoid ‘Sir Death’.
If my fears set in, I’ll begin to shake,
It will be another night, I stay awake.
Watching shadows move around,
Listening to every unknown sound.
Who knows what lurks in the dark of night?
Something evil, that loves to fright.
